While "Praxis"—learning, taking action, and reflecting—in community is usually the most powerful way to build movement, some of our deeper work requires pacing, privacy, and confidentiality that aren’t available with larger groups. For ARE members, individualized, contextualized coachinga combination of education, discernment, consulting, mentoring, peer support, and pastoral care can be valuable in these times.

Chaplaincy and Pastoral Support

Because dismantling white supremacy is such spiritually demanding and difficult work, it can take a tollleaving us feeling wounded, empty, and hopeless. Having additional emotional and spiritual support are crucial to our resilience, health, and thriving.

Chaplains listen, encourage us to process our grief, express empathy, and can often help us to develop new spiritual practices for resilience.

Coaching for Individuals

Whether it’s just a pep-talk or some additional perspective you need, a bit of help refocusing on your own anti-racist development, or support in navigating complex systems, we’re here to help!

Though we find that just a few sessions are often enough to get you through most situations, coaching is rarely “one-n-done.” We sometimes work with individuals over a period of months.

Coaching for Teams

"Individual" can mean more than two people!

Recognizing the power of collective action, we offer coaching for teams (e.g. boards, staff, committees) to navigate complex situations, maintain personal and team integrity, and plan strategically to move through challenges.

If your team has folks who are Black, Indigenous, or other People of Color, we’ll likely include one or more ARE accountability partners on ours as welland provide extra time for caucusing, individual identity work, and equity-driven team building activities.
